View from afar
(I boarded the train to Kecskemet without reading material; this is the result of a conversation with an old woman and a winter view.)
the train station
Life's pain
spilled upon the station platform
desperate and disparate
Beseeching any to feel
to share
Life's pain
so familiar, uncomfortable
to bear
necessary to live
silently pleads for death
Life's pain.
natural resources
Stark, barren, impoverished
beauty.
who has wasted you
and left you for dead?
here you sit defending
the old ways
unaware
your fields unyielding
your horizons ever
shrinking
royalty begging their
survival
sealing their fate.

Sometimes it is so great when you forget your book. Lovely, the both of them.
